Payment Options and Procedures

Before you can begin studying, you are required to purchase your desired courses. You may select and purchase a number of courses simultaneously.

Courses are valued by credits, with 1 Credit = R1. Should you like to see a demo of the course functionality prior to purchase, please click here.

Payment for courses can be made through electronic transfer (EFT) or with a credit card.

Payment Option: EFT Payment (or Personal Bank Deposit)

Manual payments (electronic bank transfers of personal deposits) should be made to Siyandza Online Campus using the following details:
  • Account Holder: Siyandza Skills Development
  • Account type: Cheque
  • Bank: ABSA
  • Branch Code: 63 20 05
  • Account Number: 4067542920
  • Payment Reference: Your purchase order number

Courses paid for manually will appear in your course list immediately, however the course will only be accessible once the payment has cleared. The time this takes is dependant on your bank. On clearance of your transfer, the lock symbol alongside the course will be removed and you will have access to the courseware.

Once you have selected the EFT payment option, you will have 72 hours to complete the transaction before the course is removed.

Payment Option: Credit Card Payment

Credit Cards Accepted
VISA, MasterCard, Diners Club and American Express credit cards are all accepted. Credit card transactions may require verification, however all card types are processed in real time with bank settlement generally occurring next day.

Payment Security
Siyandza utilises a trusted, secure payment service provider (MyGate). MyGate is one of the most reputable local payment gateways, used by many large South African names in their ecommerce sites.

MyGate is a registered Payment Service Provider (PSP) offering leading payment gateway services. They are PCI compliant and card details are stored in an encrypted environment. The page used to capture the credit card details uses a secure high-grade encrypted connection, verified by Thawte Consulting cc, a global SSL certificate authority.
  • How can I check if the payment gateway is secure?
Use the following standard security checklist if you want to feel sure that our gateway is secure:

    1. Is it a SSL connection? Check the web page URL.
Look in the address bar when you enter your credit card details. There MUST be and 'S' after the 'http'https check

A secure payment gateway service allows the merchant to capture customer credit card or checking account information then transmits that information over an encrypted SSL connection.

    2. Is the page encryption verified by a recognised by a global SSL certificate authority? Check for the "Lock" icon.

SSL Lock in browser Click (or double click) on the little lock that appears on your browser. For example, Microsoft Internet Explorer displays the lock icon in the lower-right of the browser window:

This will open the certificate for the specific page you are currently using. MyGate has a high-grade encryption certificate issued by Thawte.

Remember to click on the lock on the browser and not in the web page display area!. This is important to know because some fraudulent web sites are built with a bar at the bottom of the web page to imitate the lock icon of your browser! Therefore it is necessary to test the functionality built into this lock icon. Furthermore, it is very important to KNOW YOUR BROWSER! Check your browser's help file or contact the makers of your browser software if you are unsure how to use this functionality.

  • What is PCI Compliant?
PCI DSS (Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard) was created by the PCI Standards Security Council which represents MasterCard, Visa, JCB International, American Express and Discover. PCI applies to all merchants and is intended to ensure the security of stored and processed card data within all environments. The PCI Security Standards Council is an open global forum for the ongoing development, enhancement, storage, dissemination and implementation of security standards for account data protection.
